Cotswold Barn Conversions

Cotswold Barn Conversions

Blake Architects appointed to mastermind the conversion of 7 Cotswold stone barns that are part of a mid 19th Century 'model' farm in the classic Cotswold village of Bibury.

Bibury became well known in the later 19th Century as William Morris claimed that is was 'surely the most beautiful village in England' ever since it has been a major tourist attraction. The farm itself was built mainly at one time as industrialisation was beginning to alter farming practices, so many of the designs were almost obsolete by the time of its completion.

The proposal seeks to retain the courtyard pattern of the buildings and where new insertions are required to clearly differentiate these from the existing fabric.
