The scaffold has been removed today on Upper Westcott House to reveal the new house for the first time.
To achieve this quality of brickwork has required great skill and patience due to the variations in handmade brick sizes and the low temperatures at the beginning of the year which prevented lime being used. Bricks were rubbed to shape them to make the arches above the windows and are self supporting.
A Bathstone colonade to the south of the house and hardwood window bays can now be completed to make the house weather tight.
The construction programme in on target and the house is due to complete in December 2013
